i don't have a home printer and i don't know what i'm doing. can you help me?
my best advice for you is, before you place an order, go to a print shop, and tell them what you would like to do. this is the perfect time to find out if the project works within your budget as well as learn the different printing options available. the best part is that not only will you be well informed as to what to expect from your print vendor, but i will know exactly how to best prepare your design for print. consulting with a print shop first will help you greatly in making the best decisions for your project.

do you recommend that i take my designs to kinko's?
kinko's is a reasonable choice if you are printing items that are not double-sided or if you are not interested in using the offset print method. kinko's provides digital printing (laser printers) which is great if you are on a tight budget or need only a few items printed. however, if you are looking for optimal print results, i highly recommend working with a professional print shop and have your items, especially wedding invitations, printed with the offset printing method.

can i print my designs from home?
most designs will be suitable for home printing. however, i do not recommend printing double-sided (duplexed) designs at home since most home printers will not correctly align both sides. you will achieve the best results printing duplexed designs at a professional print shop. if any of your designs are in color, i recommend that you thoroughly review the details listed on the color options page and perform a test print with the pdf files provided.

what do i receive when i purchase a print-ready design?
you will receive your design in a pdf file format. the pdf file will be in the dimension of 8 1/2 x 11 inches and will contain markings for trimming and scoring (if applicable). if you are ordering a small design, such as a gift tag, the design will be duplicated several times in the 8 1/2 x 11 inch area in order to conserve paper.

do you offer a discount if i order more than one monogram design?
yes, i do. additional designs can be purchased for $30.00.

i can't decide which monogram i like. can you show me a few designs?
sure! please select no more than four designs and I'll be happy to show you what each design looks like before you make a final decision. after the fourth sample request, a fee of $5.00 will be applied for each additional sample.

can i resize my monogram design on my computer?
this depends on the program you will use to resize the image. if you use an image editing program like adobe photoshop or illustrator, then yes, you can safely resize the design without distorting the image. do not try to resize the jpg image in a word processing program like microsoft word as this will distort the image. if you need a specific size then i will be happy to provide you a file in that dimension.

custom dimensions can be requested on any design.

what are the line marks around my design in the pdf file?
those are trim marks and in some cases, score marks. the solid lines are guides for trimming the design. the dotted lines are for scoring or folding the design (such as with note cards or place cards). don't forget to specify what the lines are for when working with a professional print shop. generally, a print shop will already know, but it's best to be very specific.

why does the border color on my design extend past the trim marks?
you may notice on designs with borders that the color exceeds a bit past the trim marks. this is called a bleed and will allow for a cleaner appearance when the design is trimmed.

what's the best method for cutting out my designs?
you can use a paper cutter or have a professional print shop take care of it for you. if you have the patience, you can also use a sharp exacto knife and a ruler.
